In the map below, the Calumet Collaborative has documented COVID-19 cases within the Calumet region to highlight the areas that have been most affected by the pandemic. The Calumet region has been disproportionately impacted, the most affected areas exist within communities of color with higher concentrations of poverty. In the coming months the Collaborative's Board will be releasing a series of thought pieces detailing how the Collaborative's initiatives, which when viewed through the lenses of equity and climate resilience, work to address the impacts of the broken systems highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
