Ashley Hodges, Program Manager

Picture
Ashley is Calumet Collaborative’s Program Manager, providing leadership and support for initiatives, projects, programs, and communications.

Ashley grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and received her BS in Commerce at DePaul University, specializing in Marketing and minoring in Spanish.  Upon graduating, Ashley worked in advertising sales at Time Out Chicago, before moving to the agency side of advertising with Publicis Groupe’s Spark Foundry.  As an Associate Director of multi-media strategy, she managed projects in the non-profit, financial, and pharmaceutical sectors.  Ashley also specialized in digital media, and was part of a team that brought innovative digital measurement strategies to historically conservative clients.

Ashley’s passion for the environment and sustainability led her to move to Madrid where she received her Master’s degree in Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility.  After graduating and improving her Spanish, Ashley interned at the United Nations Climate Change’s Communications and Outreach Programme in Bonn, Germany.  There, Ashley ran social media and helped support communications for an initiative called Momentum for Change, which shines light on global climate action.  She also experienced the UN’s Annual Climate Change Conference, COP23.

In addition to her experience, Ashley brings her passion for connecting communities and raising awareness of sustainable solutions, because she believes transformative change can happen at the local level.  She looks forward to telling the story of a thriving Calumet region through sustainable development.  In her spare time, Ashley enjoys playing music, all things nature, and traveling
