Legacy Foundation President & CEO
Carolyn is a qualified certified fundraising executive – CFRE and President & CEO of Legacy Foundation, the community foundation for Lake County, Indiana. Carolyn served as executive director of Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation (IL) and Lubeznik Center for the Arts (IN) prior to her Legacy Foundation position. She chaired the first public art committee in Michigan City (IN) and was the impetus for attracting ArtSpace (live/work apartments) to Michigan City, the first of its kind in Indiana.
She has raised millions of dollars during her career most recently finished an 18-month fundraising effort to meet a $3.5 million goal. Under her management, Legacy Foundation was awarded the Secretaries Award from the Secretary of Housing and Development and the Secretary of Agriculture for an initiative to improve Lake County neighborhoods; the NW Indiana Association of Fundraising Professional’s Foundation of the Year; and the Prudential Award for Exceptional Board Leadership. Carolyn was inducted as a 2011-12 member of the Society of Innovators of Northwest Indiana and received the Alumni Achievement Award from West Virginia Wesleyan College. Carolyn and husband Bill Gregory have a blended family of four children and nine grandchildren.
